This troubleshooting guide is based on the current government portal structure checked on 20 August 2026. If the government changes the tracker interface, follow the latest labels on the official .gov.in page.
Quick fix checklist
If Annapurna Yojana status check is not working, try these in order:
- Open socialsecurity.wb.gov.in directly.
- Choose Track Applicant Status.
- Do not use the password form labelled for office users.
- Enter only the application details requested by the official tracker.
- Refresh/retry if CAPTCHA or the tracking page fails to load.
- If no record appears after repeated checks, use your acknowledgement to contact the office that handled the application.
Problem 1: you are on the wrong portal
There are two official portals with different jobs:
| What you want to do | Use this portal |
|---|---|
| Check application status | socialsecurity.wb.gov.in β Track Applicant Status |
| Submit online application / Family-Level Data Collection | socialregistry.wb.gov.in |
If a tutorial tells you to use the registration flow to check a current application, it may be describing an older interface.
Problem 2: only the office login is visible
The official Annapurna landing page currently shows a login section with registered mobile number, CAPTCHA and password, and the login button is labelled for Office user only. The same page also exposes Track Applicant Status.
Applicants should use the tracking option rather than trying to obtain an office password.
Problem 3: CAPTCHA does not load
A CAPTCHA failure is a website/browser problem, not evidence that your application was rejected.
Try:
- refresh the official page;
- close and reopen the browser tab;
- disable an aggressive content blocker for the government page if it is preventing CAPTCHA assets from loading;
- try another current browser;
- retry later if the government site is temporarily overloaded.
Never solve the problem by sending your personal information to a third-party βstatus serviceβ.
Problem 4: no record found
Check the exact details from your application acknowledgement. A no-record result can happen if the information entered does not match the application or if an offline submission is still moving through processing/digitisation.
If the same official tracker continues to show no record:
- keep the acknowledgement/reference with you;
- contact the BDO/SDO/KMC or municipal office where the application was handled;
- ask whether the application has been entered into the system and whether any correction is required.
Do not create a duplicate application unless an authorised office tells you to do so.
Problem 5: status has not changed for a long time
If the result is Under Enquiry / Under Verification, use the Under Enquiry guide. The official notification confirms that applications go through enquiry, recommendation and sanction stages, so some cases can require additional verification before a final result appears.
If an official field/document enquiry has already been completed and the status still does not change, follow up with the responsible local office using the existing application acknowledgement.
Problem 6: status says Approved but there is no payment
That is no longer only a tracker problem. Use the βΉ3,000 payment not received guide to separate application approval from the DBT bank-credit stage.
Problem 7: a website asks for OTP, Aadhaar or money
Stop. A third-party website or person does not need your OTP to βcheckβ a status on your behalf. Use the government portal directly. Never pay a fee to change a status, accelerate verification or release a DBT payment.
